Infrastructure

As the host institution for INCT-CiD, the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing (LNCC) has committed to provide physical space and infrastructure for the institute. A high performance computational infrastructure with large processing and storage capacities is essential for largescale analysis of data as intended by INCT-CiD. LNCC, our host institution, has a computational park for high-performance computing and data storage.

LNCC currently hosts the National Center for High Performance at Rio de Janeiro (CENAPAD-RJ). In addition, the Brazilian Ministry of Science has delegated to LNCC the coordination of the National System for High Performance (SINAPAD), which is responsible for nine CENAPADs, geographically distributed around the country.

LNCC is also hosts the Santos Dumont Supercomputer, the fastest in Latin America. Details can be found in http://sdumont.lncc.br
